Which insurance companies are the best?
That depends on the situation and can change from month to month. The best we can do is an evaluation on your property and give you some suggestions on insurance companies that you might talk to based on our past experience. Ultimately you want a company that believes in taking care of their customers and an agent that really understands the coverages included in their policies and how they affect you. Choosing based only off loyalty or price alone is usually a bad idea.
-
Do you work with insurance companies?Yes, we can work with all insurance companies by assessing damage before a claim is filed, meeting your adjuster at your home to act as your construction and storm damage expert, working with claim paperwork after a claim is filed, or just evaluating your chances to get a roof replacement approved through your specific insurance carrier.
-
Should I cash this check from the insurance company if I don't agree on the $$?
Yes, you usually should. Cashing the check does not imply that you agree with the adjuster's assessment. It does prevent the insurance company from changing their decision to open coverage for damage. Once the check is cashed, we can discuss with them the amount of damage and the reasonable method of repair of those damages to your house.
-
Can I finance my deductible?
Yes, we have financing partners that can do this pending approval.
-
My neighbor's tree fell on my property, but their insurance won't help. What do I do?
You will have to contact your own insurance company. If your property was damaged, your insurance company will handle the claim even if the tree that fell grew on someone else's property.
-
Should I call in an insurance claim?
That depends on several factors. How much damage has been caused to your house? Do you have coverage from the insurance for the cause of that damage? How many claims have you filed in the last few years? The best way to really answer this question is with a property evaluation from our team.
-
I was told that I have to get an estimate in order to file a claim?
No, you do not have to get an estimate in order to file a claim, but it is a good idea to have a storm damage evaluation completed before you file a claim in order to identify all damage that an adjuster should document. A good evaluator will be able to give you a rough idea on the potential cost to repair the damage vs what your deductible is. If the cost of repair is significantly higher than your deductible, it is usually a good idea to call your insurance claims department to file a claim.
